CORPUS CHRISTI — Brad Lomax

Chaparral Street improvements

This seems like a really good time to publicly thank the citizens of Corpus Christi for their support of the Chaparral Street improvements that are nearing completion downtown. This multimillion-dollar, voter-approved project represents the most visible and significant commitment to our downtown area since we opened the Water Street Oyster Bar in December of 1983. So Thank you!

The good news so far is that our community’s investment seems to be fulfilling its intended purpose. Properties are changing hands, the Lichtenstein building is coming down, the Cosmopolitan Residential Project is going up and tenant interest in vacant space on Chaparral is definitely increasing. As we property owners (along with the city and the Downtown Management District) do our jobs in maintaining the beauty, integrity and cleanliness of this pilot project then maybe “Destination Downtown” becomes an idea that we can all get behind.
